One airport

Is Waterloo airport the same as Kitchener airport?

Yes. Region of Waterloo International Airport, code YKF, is the one airport for Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge. It sits in Breslau, just east of Kitchener, and the airport's own website lists its bus routes, taxis and parking.

So a booking for the Kitchener, Waterloo or Breslau airport always lands at the same small terminal on Fountain Street North.

From Pearson, almost the whole drive is Highway 401 west, and the airport sits a short way north of the highway.

Limo Airport Toronto covers that 84 km run from Pearson to YKF at a single fixed price per car.

Pickup spot

Where do you get picked up at Waterloo airport?

Short answer

At the curb. YKF has two loading zones, one right outside the main terminal's departures doors and one in front of the domestic arrivals building. The airport's accessibility page says they are for loading only, so no car may sit there and wait.

That is why the car for an arriving flight parks in the Short Term lot (P3) first. The lot is on the left side of Airport Road, entered from Canuck Road, and the airport's parking page gives the first 60 minutes free. Phone 416-886-9711 when your luggage arrives, and the car moves up to the arrivals curb.

Leaving from YKF? The drop-off is the curb in front of the main terminal's departures doors, a few steps from check-in.

What the fare covers

Are tolls included in the Waterloo airport fare?

Yes. Highway tolls, the 407 ETR among them, are part of the flat fare. Most trips to Breslau stay on Highway 401 anyway, which has no toll.

A late landing does not add a delay charge either, and the price is per vehicle, never per person.

Compare it with Pearson first

Pearson has far more flights than Region of Waterloo International. If your trip starts anywhere in the Toronto area, check whether a Pearson flight costs less once you add the drive.

If Breslau still wins, we take you there. The terminal is small, so the walk from the car to check-in is short.

By SUV those same trips are $215, $215 and $165. Every other town we price is on the airport limo service areas page.

Other ways to reach YKF

Grand River Transit route 78 Fountain runs from Sportsworld Station out to the terminal. Route 79 Breslau is an on-demand bus you book in the GRT Flex app.

Local metered taxis licensed by the Region of Waterloo also serve the terminal, as the airport's transportation page explains. For a trip that starts in Toronto, those options do not reach you, which is where a booked car helps.

Booking

How a Waterloo airport booking works

$15Child seat
10 AMClock time
76 kmTo YKF
  1. Send the flight, the date, the pickup address and the number of riders and bags. Dispatch replies with one fixed fare for the whole vehicle.

  2. We work around the clock, and for an arriving flight we enter the number into our dispatch system. If the plane is late, the pickup moves and the fare does not change. Child seats are $15, and business accounts get one invoice a month.

  3. Example: a 10 AM departure from YKF, starting in Mississauga, 76 km and about 1 h 5 min away. Reaching the terminal two hours early means 8 AM, and a 15-minute margin puts the pickup at 6:40 AM.
